Description, History and Archives

What is Exposure?

Exposure is a student-run club located on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University. As you might have guessed by now, our club is centered around photography.

We usually meet about two to three times a month in the Cheshire Cafe of the Collins Living-Learning Center, though we are not affiliated with Collins LLC.

There are no explicit or implicit requirements to becoming an Exposure member. (In fact you can go to our member signup form by clicking here )

Club History

Exposure was founded sometime in the spring of 1994. The exact date the club came to life is unclear, since for the first six months or so, it only had one member. (Some might find it somewhat delusional to call this a club, but that's not the point)

Nevertheless by the fall semester of 1994, things were going much better. There was now a full slate of officers and most importantly, even members. The membership rose and fell and rose again through the year and we went on picnics and had speakers and did things. The club name was also changed from the less-than-inspiring IU Photography Club to Exposure. Historians will want to note January 12, 1995 as an important day as the club adopted its Constitution that day, causing joy and happiness worldwide. As we approach the fall semester, we have a full slate of activities planned, including our charity photo auction . We hope you can join us.
