What is it?

A photographic competition where the top twenty contestants will have their photographs displayed in the Indiana Memorial Union gallery. It then becomes a charity photo auction where these same photographs will be auctioned with all proceeds going directly to the Boys' and Girls' Club of Bloomington.

When is it?

The actual exhibition and auction will be from November 29th to December 15th. Pictures will be accepted until about the middle of October.

Why should I enter?

How do I enter?

And now for a more wordy description with all the details:

The auction is similar to a standard photo contest and exhibition, but with a twist. The contest is open to all Indiana University students who can submit their photographs in any genre. A panel of Indiana University professors will select twenty to twenty-five winning photographs. The photographs will be exhibited in the Indiana Memorial Union Gallery from November 29th to December 15th. The students who take the top three photographs will win prizes. (More details on the prizes will be coming soon)

Now for the twist. During the time the photographs are on exhibit, we will hold an auction where students, professors, members of the community can bid for the photographs. All the proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Boy's and Girls' Club of Bloomington (note to the photographers: Only the print will be sold. All rights of the image will remain with you)

The deadline for entering submissions into the contest is approximately October 20 , so don't delay and miss a chance to enter this great event. If you are an IU student (especially an undergraduate), this is an rare opportunity to have your work displayed and seen in a highly publicized exhibition. Furthermore, you will be helping the children of Bloomington with your work and could even win a prize.

If you are not an IU student, please come to the auction. You will have the opportunity to take home a beautiful piece of artwork as well as the satisfaction of knowing that every cent of your money is going directly to a needy charity.
